BREMERTON, Wash.—The Kitsap Pumas announced today that the club’s supplemental invitational tryout, set for March 5 and 6, has been canceled. Due to the high standard of play at the first two tryout weekends and players signed via other means, the coaching staff feels it would be unnecessary to hold another tryout.
“We were impressed with the high level at both of the first two tryouts,” head coach Cameron MacDonald said, “so we have almost all of our squad signed at this point. We feel like this is a big moment for the club, that our reputation is to the point where our tryouts are at such a level.”
Kitsap has announced the return of defender Matt Eronemo and midfielder Trevor Jensen for the 2016 season. The club will continue releasing its player signings, including a host of newcomers, in the coming days, and preseason kicks off April 1 with a match against the Seattle Stars at Gordon Field.
