NPSL This Week: Wins by Kitsap, Spokane set up some big matches

Kitsap Soccer Club earned a hard-earned three points on the road on Friday night with a 3-2 comeback victory over FCM Portland, but the weekend’s other action only tightened the NPSL Northwest Division race at the top of the table. (See match-winner Ryan Hill’s thoughts on the win here.) Spokane SC Shadow matched up with Pierce County FC in a game that set up a big match this week.

SPOKANE OUTPACES PIERCE COUNTY: Spokane SC Shadow got a first-half goal from a free kick and added an (ultimately needed) insurance goal after halftime in 2-1 victory over Pierce County FC at Bonney Lake High School. The victory pushed Spokane into second place in the division with five points, setting up a tasty matchup on Sunday against leaders PDX FC, which has a game in hand.

KITSAP, OSA ALSO PREPPING FOR BIG MATCH: Before Sunday’s match, Kitsap SC and OSA FC have a classic six-pointer on the schedule Saturday. The two teams are tied with four points and a win by either team would push it top of the table in the division.
