Levine hat trick sinks Pumas in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. — Two Spokane goals in the first 10 minutes set the tone and Kitsap Pumas never recovered as Jake Levine logged a hat trick in the Shadow’s 5-0 whitewashing of the Pumas on Saturday at Spokane SC Shadow Soccer Complex.

With the victory, Spokane (3-0-3, 12 points) edged ahead of Kitsap to the top of the NPSL Northwest Conference Division with a game in hand. The Pumas (3-2-2, 11 points) are still in second place in the tightly packed division.

Levine drew first blood for the Shadow, scoring past Kitsap keeper Cody Lang in the fourth minute. Jeremiah Mitchell added another strike in the ninth minute, and Spokane was on its way.

Levine scored again in the 44th and 52nd minutes to complete his hat trick, and Chase Reidt scored in the 78th minute to complete the scoring.

It was the Pumas’ first regular-season road loss since they moved to the NPSL last season.

Kitsap will next be in action on Saturday as they travel to face PDX FC at Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego, Ore. Kickoff for the contest will be at 7 p.m.
