Kitsap Pumas announce tryout schedule for 2018 season

Open tryout to take place Jan. 27; invitational tryouts in February and March

BREMERTON, Wash. — The Kitsap Pumas will hold an open tryout on Jan. 27, 2018, as well as invitation-only tryouts Feb. 17-18 and March 31 and April 1 [update: this tryout has been canceled] ahead of its 2018 National Premier Soccer League season. Players will have a chance to compete for contracts on a team with a proven track record of moving players onto higher-level teams in the United States and abroad.
“Tryouts are a vital step in an exciting process that we go through to put together a team each year,” head coach Liviu Bird said. “We always look forward to getting back on the field after a long offseason. I invite all players, both local and from far away, to come out and take their chance with us if they think they have what it takes.”
Tryouts are open to players 16 years of age and older. Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian present at the event. There is a $50 registration fee for the open tryout; the invitational tryouts are free of charge. Tryouts will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The January tryout is open to all interested players. The February and March events are open only to those invited by members of the Pumas coaching staff—others will be turned away. Players with previous collegiate and professional experience are invited to email the club for consideration for an invitation.
Kitsap coaching staff will be on hand to oversee tryouts and evaluate trialists. For any additional information regarding the tryout, please contact head coach Liviu Bird at
